How can therapy help me?
We all face difficult times in our lives, sometimes we feel unable to figure out what to do and are uncomfortable about sharing our feelings with family, whānau and friends.
Seeking help is not a sign of weakness or failure - counselling can provide a valuable opportunity to look at what's going on for you and help you evaluate how you can best deal with the challenges you're facing.
Counselling can help you recognise, and use the strengths and skills you've gained over your life but may not be fully aware of them at this time. My role as a therapist is to listen and collaborate with you in finding what will best help support you and the challenges you face in life.
Commitment and regular attendance is required for counselling to progress and the best outcome achieved. As the therapy progresses clients become more trusting of their sense of judgement, open to try new things, and accepting of their own feelings and life experiences.
Counselling is a proactive and positive step in developing a better understanding of yourself, your life experiences and your current situation. It can also help you increase your self-awareness, gain insight and a better understanding of yourself and those around you.
I am committed to developing a therapeutic relationship where you will be gently supported to explore your individual concerns, discover solutions together, and find the best way forward for you.
